EPW Archives becomes a paid website

Hi,

A piece of News.. The Web version of Economic and Political Weekly Magazine (EPW) , a staple for many in the Economics community has become a paid website. Previously this was a free resource where one could register for free and access the magazine archives. The solace is that the rates for the Web Edition are not as high.
One Year Individuals: Rs 600
Institutions: Rs 1100

Overseas Subscribers
One Year:Individuals: US$ 50
Institutions: US$ 110

It was a big news for me because this is a very nice repository of articles related to Economics and Politics in India and some of them are real gems. I would not exaggerate to say that myself and many others I know of, have grown up on them...

Cheers!

Economic and Political Weekly(EPW) isn't available at my place which prevents me from reading this esteemed magazine about which I've heard quite often.i am a resident of Ambala Cantt in Haryana which is quite a highly populated area and not a remote one. Please consider my request to make this magazine available at small places like that of mine so that the readers may avail of it.

Aashika,

I tried to click on your name button above but could not get a link to the contact. Hence I am posting my reply here just in case you come back again to view it.

I am not working with EPW so I personally can do little. However I suggest you two things:

1. Subscribe to EPW with your Ambala address so that EPW can post the magazine to your doorstep.

2. Better still, why dont you subscribe to the WEB edition.. it is Rs. 600/- per indicudual per year.

3. If you find that a little expensive then try to get hold of a library around in a college which is sucscribing to the magazine.

If any of these approaches don't work out then let me know and we can think of something else.

Regards
